Monsoon withdraws from Nepal, weather remains mostly clear

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has announced that the monsoon has officially withdrawn from the entire territory of Nepal, marking the end of this year’s monsoon season.

According to the department, the monsoon exited Nepal on Friday. The division stated that there is currently no significant weather system affecting the country.

At present, hilly regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are witnessing partly cloudy skies, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear.

During the afternoon, the weather will stay mainly clear across most parts of the country, with partial cloudiness expected in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

There is a chance of light rainfall at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi Province. Similarly, during the night, the hilly areas of Koshi Province may remain partly cloudy, while the weather in most other regions of the country will continue to be generally fair.
