KATHMANDU: Two people died and four others were seriously injured when a mound of soil collapsed in Bara district on Saturday morning.

The incident occurred at Simraungadh Municipality of Bara, south of the new building area, while locals were digging soil in preparation for Tihar.

According to police, the victims were buried under the mound while working. The injured have been taken to the Provincial Hospital in Kalaiya for treatment.

The identities of the deceased and injured have not yet been confirmed.
