KATHMANDU: Gen Z movement leader Miraj Dhungana has called on all eligible voters to participate in the upcoming elections, describing it as a “golden opportunity” for meaningful change in Nepal.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Dhungana urged the government and the Election Commission to focus on election outreach and ensure a fair and transparent process.

He specifically emphasized the importance of securing voting rights for nearly eight million Nepalis living abroad, warning that denying them would be a grave injustice and a major embarrassment for the nation.

“The maximum number of voters must cast their ballots. This is an unprecedented opportunity for change. If we fail to vote now, hope could be lost. Today is the chance to save the country; whether it survives until the next movement is uncertain,” he said.

Dhungana also raised concerns over alleged electoral irregularities, including attempts to influence voters or manipulate ballot boxes, and demanded accountability from both the government and the Election Commission to maintain public trust in the election process.
