KABUL: Afghanistan and Pakistan reached an immediate ceasefire after week-long deadly clashes along their 2,600 km border.
The truce, mediated by Qatar and Turkiye during talks in Doha, was announced on Sunday.
Both sides agreed to set up monitoring mechanisms for lasting peace.
The escalation followed a suicide attack that killed seven Pakistani soldiers.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan withdrew from the November T20I tri-series in Pakistan, citing an airstrike in Paktika that killed eight people, including three domestic cricketers.
