30-member squad leaving for India to attend Athletics Championship

KATHMANDU: A 30-member Nepali squad comprising 26 players is leaving here for Ranchi, India on Wednesday to participate in the South Asian Senior Athletics Championship.

The Championship is taking place on October 24-26. Mukesh Pal, Rajan Rokaya, Som Kumal, Salin Dewan, Santoshi Shrestha, Purna Laxmi Neupane, Sushil KC, Shiva Raj Parki, Arun Mahato are participating in the championship.

Similarly, Ran Chandra Tharu, Tilak BK, Yubraj BK, Ganesh Singh Rawat, Nageshwor Aier, Chandra Dev Joshi, Prabin Rana, Basanti Chaudhary, Sima Kumari Tharu, Jay Rani Tharu, Sita Shahi, Sharmila Kumari Tharu, Saraswoti Chaudhary, Ranjita Adhikati, Dina Gopali and Narayani Bhandari are competing in the championship.

Rakesh Bajracharya and Dhaniram Chaudhary are coaches while Dipendra Kumar Goiet is manager and Anirudra Chaudhary is an official in the team.

At a programme organised here Monday, Member-Secretary at the National Sports Council, Tanka Lal Ghising, bade farewell to the team and wished for their success.
