‘Jerry on Top’ to release in Canada from November 1

KATHMANDU: The Nepali film Jerry on Top, which premiered in Nepal on October 17, is set to be released in Canada. The Canadian distribution and promotion will be handled by Prachaar Nepal Pvt. Ltd.

Ashish Puri, director of Prachaar Nepal, and film producer Bibek Thapa have signed an agreement for the film’s screening in Canada.

The distribution rights were acquired in response to audience demand, and bookings in Canada are already open.

Prachaar Nepal has previously screened Nepali films such as Purnabahadurko Sarangi, Tel Visa, Chhakka Panja 5, and several short and feature films in Canada. Jerry on Top will be shown in major Canadian cities starting November 1.

Jerry on Top has performed well at the Nepali box office.

The film stars Anmol KC, Jasita Gurung, and Anchal Sharma among others.

Presenter Saroj Neupane reported that the movie has already earned over Rs 60 million, though official earnings have yet to be updated in the Box Office system due to technical issues with the Film Development Board.

Directed by Suyog Gurung, the film centers on a love story that unfolds during a Mount Everest expedition. Supporting cast includes Bhuvan KC, Kedar Ghimire, Usha Khadgi, and Surakshha Panta.
