KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has warned of possible snowfall and rain across Nepal starting Monday night and continuing for the next three days.
A special weather bulletin released on Monday cited the influence of western winds and a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea as the main cause.
According to the bulletin, light to moderate snowfall and rain are expected in parts of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, as well as in hilly and mountainous areas of other provinces, until Wednesday morning.
The department also noted that heavy snowfall could occur at one or two locations in the high mountain regions of Gandaki Province.
The Meteorological Department has advised the public and relevant authorities to exercise caution, as the snowfall and rain may affect daily life, transportation, agriculture, and tourism activities.
