KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast rain across most parts of the country until Saturday morning due to the Cyclone Montha.

Bibhuti Pokharel, spokesperson for the department, told Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) that there will be light, scattered rain in Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, while other provinces are expected to receive moderate rainfall.

She added that the weather is likely to improve only from Saturday morning. Pokharel also said that rainfall is expected in the Kathmandu Valley and surrounding areas over the next 24 hours, though it will not be continuous everywhere.

In addition, she warned of the possibility of one or two heavy snowfalls in the high hills and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces during the same period.
