KATHMANDU: According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the partial influence of westerly winds continues over Nepal.

Due to this weather system, partly cloudy conditions prevail in the hilly regions, including Koshi Province, while the rest of the country is generally clear.

This afternoon, partly to generally cloudy skies are expected over the hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, with the possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall in a few places.

Some parts of the hilly regions in other provinces may also experience brief rainfall. Light rain is also likely in one or two places in the Tarai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

Tonight, generally cloudy conditions are expected over the hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies.

There is a chance of moderate rain and snowfall in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces, and light precipitation in isolated hilly areas elsewhere.

The department has advised travelers and residents in high-altitude regions to take precautions against possible snowfall and cold weather.
