Western winds continue to affect Nepal; rain and snowfall likely in four provinces today

KATHMANDU: According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, western winds continue to influence Nepal’s weather conditions.

As a result, light to moderate rainfall and snowfall are expected in the provinces of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim.

Light rain is also likely at one or two places in the Tarai region.The weather will remain generally cloudy in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, while partly cloudy conditions are expected elsewhere.

During the afternoon, most of the hilly areas of the country—including Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim—are expected to experience light to moderate rain with snowfall, while some hilly parts of other provinces may also see light precipitation.

A few places in the Tarai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim may witness light rainfall as well.

Tonight, skies will remain generally cloudy over the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, while other regions will have partly cloudy weather.

The department further noted that light to moderate rain with snowfall is expected in a few places of the hilly and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
