Two killed in Lamjung jeep accident

BESISAHARA: Two people died in a jeep accident in Lamjung. Last night, a Bolero jeep bearing registration number Ba 8 Cha 3731, which was carrying cement from Khudi, Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-3 to Naiche, Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-6 for the Hidi Khola Hydropower project, met with an accident, according to the Lamjung District Police Office.

The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Binod Khadka and 25-year-old Paras Khadka from Melung-4, Dolakha.

Police spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Kshetri stated that the jeep went out of control and fell approximately 800 meters off the road, causing severe injuries.

The victims were rescued by police but succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

The injured, including 20-year-old Umesh Limbu from Sidingwa Rural Municipality-4, Taplejung, who was also in the jeep, survived and is reported to be in stable condition, police said.
