KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that the private sector, which suffered losses during the Gen Z movement, will be provided relief just as the injured protesters received immediate assistance.

Addressing a program organized by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Karki assured that the government will leave no stone unturned to restore the confidence of the business community.

“In the backdrop of this movement, some unruly groups took advantage of the temporary state of disorder to cause damage to industries and businesses, which is unacceptable to us,” said Karki.

“Just as the injured youth of the Gen Z movement were given immediate relief and support, the government will extend similar assistance to the private sector to help them recover and regain confidence.”

She added that the Gen Z movement had sent a strong message against corruption, political levies, and commission networks, emphasizing that “loot in the name of democracy” would no longer be tolerated.

The movement, she said, has also made it clear that honest entrepreneurs should not be harassed and that those manipulating policies for personal gain will no longer be protected.
