KATHMANDU: The Nepal Police has arrested four persons on the charge of their involvement in smuggling and selling brown sugar.
A team comprising Sub-Inspector of Police at Narcotics Control Bureau, Bichitra Magar, arrested four persons including two Indians for smuggling brown sugar from India and selling it in Kathmandu. They were made public today.
Those arrested in this connection are Rabi Ananda Dev, 39, of Rajbiraj and Pushpa Magar, 29, of Morang from Nepal, and Raja Kumar, 23, of Haripur and Devendra Kumar Sah, 21, of Swastiknagar from India, shared Joint-Spokesperson at the Bureau, Chandra Bhusan Yadav.
They were arrested, acting on a tip-off, and 975 grammes of brown sugar was confiscated from them, shared police.
Further investigation against them was underway in accordance with the Narcotics (Control) Act, 2033, police said.
