BARA: The situation in Simara, Bara, has become tense. CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and leader Mahesh Basnet were scheduled to arrive in Simara from Kathmandu today (Wednesday), with their landing planned for 11 AM.

However, Simara Airport was closed after clashes broke out between UML cadres gathered near the canteen at the airport’s main gate to welcome the leaders and members of the Gen-Z group protesting their arrival.

Gen-Z protesters burned tires on the road, further heightening tensions in the area. They continued their demonstration by lighting tires on the road leading to the airport entrance.
