KANCHANPUR: A youth went missing in the Mahakali River this afternoon. The missing one has been identified as Sani Damai, 28, of Tilakpur in Bhimdatta Municipality–3, according to the District Police Office.
Office Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohora said, “The preliminary report suggests that Damai, who had gone to attend the funeral procession of a local resident, slipped suddenly while preparing a funeral pyre and went missing in the river.”
Security personnel have been mobilized to search for the missing individual.
Similarly, the body of Roshan Damai, 21, of Bhimdatta–12, who had disappeared in the Mahakali River nine days ago, was found today. He had gone missing while taking a bath in the river.
His body was retrieved from the riverbank, around 200 meters south of the Dodhara Chandani suspension bridge.
The body has been handed over to his relatives after completing the necessary procedures.
