Chief Minister Yadav seeking trust vote on Friday

DHANUSHA: Chief Minister of the Madhesh Province, Krishna Prasad Yadav, is seeking a vote of confidence from the Province Assembly tomorrow, Friday.

CM Yadav had written to the Province Assembly Secretariat urging to make arrangements for the same. According to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, correspondence has been sent to the Provincial Assembly for the purpose of seeking a vote of confidence as per Article 168 of the Constitution.

The constitution stipulates that the Chief Minister must obtain a vote of confidence within 30 days of appointment.

Yadav was appointed as the Chief Minister on December 5 with the support of 77 provincial assembly members from seven parties, in his capacity as the leader of the parliamentary party of the Nepali Congress.

Chief Minister Yadav is expected to easily secure a vote of confidence from the Province Assembly. After obtaining the vote of confidence, it is expected that the term of the Madhes Province government will become more stable and the government will be more active in budget implementation, development, construction and good governance tasks.
