KATHMANDU: Travel along the Daunne section of the Narayanghat-Butwal road has become increasingly difficult and risky due to slippery conditions caused by recent cold waves.

Ongoing construction, including rigid pavement and culvert works, combined with adverse weather, has turned the road muddy and slippery.

Heavy trucks, buses, and private vehicles are struggling on uphill stretches, often skidding or getting stuck, leading to long traffic jams and passenger hardship.

Citing safety risks, the project office has urged non-essential vehicles to use alternative routes and advised extreme caution and strict traffic rule compliance for those using the road.
