KATHMANDU: The westerly wind is causing changes in weather next day, Friday. The weather will be cloudy in the country from Friday afternoon, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

However, major changes in weather will be felt in western belt of the county. The western region of Nepal is highly likely to be cloudy to moderately rainy and snowy.

Meteorologist at the Department, David Dhakal, informed that the cloud spreads from western to eastern side on Friday and Saturday. It brings light rains in few places of Sudurpaschim Province.

Some places in high hills and mountainous regions across the country are forecasted to have moderate snowfall. Dhakal further said Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpaschim provinces are likely to have moderate rainfall along with thunder.

Even the hailstone may be recorded in a few places. Although the weather will improve on Saturday, the lingering cloudy weather causes a decline in temperature throughout the country.

The Department has appealed to all people including the agencies providing health, tourism and air services to stay updated on weather condition and maintain alertness accordingly.
