KATHMANDU: The window for direct-category candidates to withdraw their nominations for the House of Representatives election on March 5 is open today from 10 AM to 1 PM, leaving only one hour remaining.

Following this deadline, the final list of candidates will be published between 1 PM and 3 PM at 77 Chief Election Officer offices and 88 Election Officer offices nationwide.

Assistant Spokesperson Kul Bahadur GC of the Election Commission stated that election symbols will be distributed today from 4 PM to 7 PM.

Currently, 3,485 nominations are active, including 3,088 men, 395 women, and one third-gender individual. Out of five complaints filed across four districts, Resham Chaudhary’s candidacy in Kailali Constituency 1 was canceled.

Similarly, Election Officer Amrita Kumari Sharma confirmed the disqualification of Miteri Party candidate Sumitra Basnet in Kathmandu Constituency 10 because she’s blacklisted by the Credit Information Bureau of Nepal.
