KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel, who left here last night for Japan for an official visit, reached Japan early this morning.
The Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Toru Maeda and Chargé d’ affaires of the Embassy of Nepal in Japan, Harihar Kant Poudel, welcomed President Paudel at Narita International Airport, Japan.
The Head of State is visiting Japan by leading a Nepali delegation at the invitation of the Japanese government on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal-Japan diplomatic relations. During the visit, he will attend an anniversary function to be organized by the Japanese government, President’s Press Advisor Kiran Pokharel said.
The President is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the Japanese Emperor Naruhito at the Tokyo Imperial Palace.
According to Press Advisor Pokharel, President Paudel is scheduled to attend a meeting to be organized by the Japanese business community and would also attend a reception to be hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in Japan.
The President is accompanied by his spouse Sabita Paudel, high-level government officials and the officials at the President’s office. He is scheduled to return home on February 4.
