KATHMANDU: On the final trading day of the week today (Thursday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has increased by 27.19 points. Today, the share prices of three companies hit a ‘positive circuit.’ The transaction amount exceeded Rs 11 billion.
While NEPSE decreased by 19.85 points on Sunday, it had increased by 1.53 points on Monday. On Tuesday, however, it decreased by 12.58 points. NEPSE also decreased by 1.64 points on Wednesday.
Increasing by 1.01 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE settled at the 2,708.70 level on Thursday. Overall, this week, NEPSE fell on Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, while it rose on Monday and Thursday.
The Sensitive Index also rose by 4.47 points to climb to the 460.48 level. The Sensitive Index increased by 0.98 percent compared to the previous trading day. On Thursday, 35,574,627 shares of 326 companies were bought and sold through 108,817 transactions on NEPSE. In this, a turnover of Rs 11.582 billion occurred on Thursday.
On Sunday, a turnover of Rs 9.109 billion occurred on NEPSE, while on Monday, a turnover of Rs 8.223 billion took place. Similarly, while a turnover of Rs 8.631 billion occurred on Tuesday, a turnover of Rs 7.499 billion had occurred on Wednesday.

Out of the 13 groups traded on NEPSE on Wednesday, all 12 groups except Trading were traded. Accordingly, the indices of the Commercial Bank group increased by 0.56, Development Bank by 0.92, Finance by 0.48, Hotel and Tourism by 0.22, Hydropower group by 1.66, and Investment group by 1.23 percent.
Similarly, life insurance increased by 1.11, the manufacturing and processing group by 0.74, the microfinance group by 0.60, mutual funds by 0.57, and the non-life insurance group by 1.98 percent. Likewise, the Others group increased by 1.98 percent, while the Trading group decreased by 0.48 percent.
On NEPSE on Thursday, the prices of 201 companies increased, while those of 55 companies decreased. The share prices of four companies remained stable.
In the fluctuating NEPSE throughout the day, the share investors of three companies earned 10 percent on Thursday. That is, a ‘positive circuit’ was triggered. The companies hitting the positive circuit include Kalinchowk Darshan and Modi Energy Limited.
Similarly, on Thursday, the investors of Super Madi Hydropower Limited lost the most at 54.98 percent of their share price. Its final share price was maintained at Rs 4.94.
Today, the highest was Union Hydropower Limited. On Thursday, a turnover of Rs 587.7 million occurred for it. The final share price of Union Hydropower was maintained at Rs 531 per share.
