KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has signed an agreement to support Kirtipur Hospital in purchasing medical equipment under its annual program. The agreement was concluded in the presence of Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol, Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain, and Education and Health Committee Coordinator Chini Kaji Maharjan.
The agreement was signed by Health Department Chief Dipak Kumar KC on behalf of KMC and Hospital Chairperson Dr. Bharat Kumar Pradhan Shrestha on behalf of Kirtipur Hospital. Under the approved program for the current fiscal year, KMC has allocated Rs 10 million for the purchase of medical equipment.
As per the agreement, the hospital will procure one anesthesia machine, one 250 KVA generator, and one 500 MA digital X-ray machine through the public procurement process.
KMC stated that the support aims to ensure high-quality, simple, and accessible treatment services for Kathmandu residents and patients visiting Kirtipur Hospital. Acting Mayor Dangol said the grant is intended to enhance the quality and accessibility of services, including burn treatment. Hospital Chairperson Shrestha noted that burn treatment is complex and said the hospital expects continued support from KMC, emphasizing that it operates with a service-oriented, non-profit approach.
