KATHMANDU: One person has been arrested with silver worth approximately Rs 1.2 million at the Nagdhunga checkpoint in Ward No. 2 of Chandragiri Municipality.
According to the police post at Nagdhunga, about three kilograms of silver granules that had been brought illegally were found during a search of a bag belonging to Aasu Saab of Ward No. 6, Pheta Rural Municipality, Parsa.
The search was conducted after suspicion arose while he was traveling on a passenger bus heading to Kathmandu from Birgunj.
Spokesperson for the Kathmandu District Police Range, Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, stated that the accused, along with the seized silver, has been handed over to the Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office for further investigation.
