KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has taken action eight people and sought clarifications from 94 people for breaching the election code of conduct.
From the political parties and candidates, 57 clarifications have been received while re- clarifications have been sought from six individuals, according to EC legal officer Mohan Raj Joshi.
Government and non-government offices, media houses and journalists are also in the list that the EC has held responsible for the violation of the election code of conduct. Clarifications from registered media and journalists associated with them were sought from the Press Council Nepal.
As of now, 1076 complaints about the breaching of the code of conduct have been received from across the country while 1,061 have been already sorted out.
The highest number of complaints are from the Lumbini Province.
