KATHMANDU: The film Laalimaa was released in cinema halls across the country on Friday, marking the first domestic film to enter theaters following the recent House of Representatives election.
Directed by Roshan Miraz, the film explores the struggles, pain, and psychological realities faced by sex workers, drawing inspiration from real-life experiences.
Roshni Karki plays the lead role in the film. The cast also includes Jiban Bhattarai, Usha Rajak, Shishir Bangdel, and Sushma Niraula, among others.
The film has received a PG certificate from the censor board and runs for 117 minutes.
