KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has scheduled the hearing in the case of Kishori Sah ‘Kamal’ for March 15.
On Friday, in a bench comprising Justices Sharanga Subedi and Tek Prasad Dhungana, the hearing could not proceed, leading to the scheduling of the next hearing on March 15.
Earlier, on March 12, Justice Subedi, in a single-judge bench, had issued an interim order in Sah’s case. On Friday, when the hearing again came before her bench, it could not proceed, according to Supreme Court Spokesperson Arjun Koirala.
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)’s Sah, a candidate from Dhanusha-1, had his candidacy canceled by the Election Commission because his name was listed in the Credit Information Bureau’s defaulter list. After his candidacy was canceled, Sah filed a case at the apex court against the Credit Information Bureau.
During the vote count in Dhanusha Constituency No. 1, votes had been cast in favor of Kishori Sah, whose candidacy had been canceled. Despite receiving the highest number of votes, Sah’s candidacy had been canceled, and the Election Commission had declared the candidate from the Nepali Communist Party, Matrika Yadav, the runner-up in the election, as the winner.
