KATHMANDU: On the final trading day of this week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has shown a double-digit improvement. Today (Thursday), the NEPSE index rose by 14.21 points to settle at 2,950.16.
According to NEPSE, today’s trading saw 343 companies exchange 30,438,315 shares in 142,734 transactions, with a total turnover of over Rs 13.16 billion.
Among today’s sector-wise performance, Development Banks fell by 0.05%, Life Insurance declined by 0.04%, and the Trading sector dropped by 2.84%, while all other sub-indices posted gains.
The following sectors recorded increases: Banking (+0.37%), Finance (+0.17%), Hotels & Tourism (+1.56%), Hydropower (+1.56%), Investment (+0.51%), Manufacturing & Processing (+1.50%), Microfinance (+0.20%), Non-life Insurance (+0.43%), and Others (+0.65%).
Today, Reliance Spinning Mills Limited, Super Khudi Hydropower Limited, and Hotel Forest Inn Limited hit positive circuits. The steepest decline of the day was recorded by Panchakanya Mai Hydropower Limited, whose share price fell by 7.48%.
In terms of turnover value, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited topped the chart with transactions worth over Rs 942.98. By volume of shares traded, National Hydropower Company Limited led with 1,483,331 shares changing hands.
