KATHMANDU: On Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) increased by 45.12 points. Rising by 1.63 percent compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE settled at the 2,802.52 mark.
On this day, the Sensitive Index also increased by 5.75 points to stop at 476.88 points. In terms of percentage, this is 1.22 percent higher than the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index increased by 1.53 percent, and the sensitive float index increased by 1.30 percent.
In the stock market today, at least 18,816,808 unit shares of 346 companies were bought and sold through 98,162 transactions. Accordingly, a turnover of Rs 8.318 billion was recorded on Wednesday.
On NEPSE, a turnover of Rs 12.38 billion was recorded on Sunday. On Monday, the turnover was Rs 10.928 billion, while on Tuesday, a turnover of Rs 6.737 billion was recorded.

Out of the 13 groups traded on NEPSE today, indicators for all groups saw “greenery” (growth). Accordingly, on Wednesday, the Commercial Bank group index rose by 1.15 percent, Development Bank by 1.98 percent, Finance by 1.45 percent, Hotel and Tourism by 2.56 percent, and Hydropower by 2.61 percent.
Similarly, the Investment group sub-index rose by 1.35 percent, Life Insurance by 1.31 percent, Manufacturing and Processing by 3.87 percent, Microfinance by 1.28 percent, Mutual Fund by 0.99 percent, Non-Life Insurance by 1.01 percent, Others by 0.15 percent, and the Trading group sub-index rose by 0.61 percent.
On Wednesday, the share prices of four companies hit the positive circuit breaker on NEPSE. Those hitting the positive circuit include Reliance Spinning Mills, Shreenagar Agritech Industries, Solu Hydropower, and Hotel Forest Inn Nepal. This means investors in these four companies earned 10 percent.
On the other hand, investors in Swetganga Hydropower faced a loss of 4.35 percent.
In terms of turnover amount, SY Panel remained at the forefront. Today, a turnover of Rs 468.1 million was recorded for SY.
Similarly, in terms of the number of shares traded, National Hydropower Company remained at the top today as well. At least 1,066,106 unit shares of National Hydropower were bought and sold on Wednesday. On Tuesday, 843,664 unit shares had been traded. The final trading price of National Hydropower was maintained at Rs 288 per unit.
