KATHMANDU: TikTok removed 1,932,575 videos in Nepal between October and December 2025 for violating community guidelines, according to its latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report. The platform maintained a proactive removal rate of 99.9 percent, with 98.4 percent of flagged content taken down within 24 hours.

Globally, TikTok removed 175.3 million videos during the same period, representing about 0.5 percent of all uploaded content. Of these, 152.5 million were identified through automated detection systems, while more than 8.36 million videos were later restored after review.

The company also removed 147.7 million fake accounts and nearly 23.9 million accounts suspected to belong to users under the age of 13. Enforcement data show that 99.1 percent of flagged content worldwide was removed within 24 hours.

Content violations were primarily linked to sensitive or adult themes, which accounted for 21.2 percent of removals, followed by safety and civility breaches at 9.1 percent, privacy and security violations at 1.2 percent, misinformation at 1.6 percent, and edited or artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content at 1.8 percent.

TikTok reported improvements in its artificial intelligence moderation system, reflected in fewer videos being removed before receiving any views. The platform also noted a shift in moderation strategy, reducing the visibility of certain inappropriate comments instead of removing them, alongside increased action against fake likes and followers.
