PARBAT: A 14-year-old girl, Ritika Jaisi, from Deupur in Modi Rural Municipality–2, Parbat district, has been missing for the past eight days.

She went missing on 12 April 2026 while returning home from her maternal uncle’s house in Dhairing, Jaljala Rural Municipality–7.

According to police, she was seen boarding a vehicle from Milan Chowk along the Maldhunga–Beni road, heading toward Patichaur in Modi Rural Municipality, but has not been in contact since.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bijay Yadav stated that an intensive search operation is underway. All subordinate police units have been instructed to continue the search using her description.

Local teacher Bhumi Raj Sharma reported that although the girl had boarded a vehicle to Patichaur, she did not get off there. Instead, she was found to have alighted at Milan Chowk in Hemja, Pokhara Metropolitan City–25, in Kaski distric, about 35 kilometers beyond her intended stop. Her whereabouts after that remain unknown.

The girl had recently completed Grade 8 at Jananetra Secondary School in Deupur and was about to enroll in Grade 9.

Her family has appealed to the public to inform the nearest police station if anyone has seen her or has information about any suspicious individuals, and to assist in the search.
