At least 122 detained in overnight police sweep across Pokhara

KASKI: A total of 122 individuals were detained during a 10-hour sweep operation conducted across Pokhara Metropolitan City, Kaski, to curb drug-related activities and public disturbances. The operation ran from 9 pm yesterday (April 22) to 6 am on Thursday (April 23) with around 100 police personnel deployed across multiple wards.

Those detained include individuals involved in drug sale, distribution, and consumption, as well as those behaving suspiciously or causing disturbances under the influence of alcohol. Legal procedures and investigations have been initiated.

The highest number of arrests were recorded in Lakeside and surrounding areas, followed by key city locations including Prithvi Chowk, Airport, and Bhandardhik. Additional detentions were made in nearby rural municipalities.

Authorities have indicated that such operations will continue, targeting activities that disrupt social order and public safety.
