KATHMANDU: Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Sasmit Pokharel, held a courtesy meeting with Dagny Mjøs on Monday at the ministry in Singha Durbar.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and support from the Norwegian government in Nepal’s education, science, technology, and sports sectors.
Discussions were particularly centered on the current government’s priorities, continued Norwegian assistance in school education, and prospects for future partnerships.
During the meeting, Minister Pokharel expressed gratitude for Norway’s ongoing support in Nepal’s school education sector, especially in areas such as inclusivity, equity, fundamental learning, and climate-smart education systems.
He also praised Norway’s advanced education system, noting that Nepal could learn significantly from its practices and technologies, and stated that the ministry is open to further collaboration.
Ambassador Mjøs reaffirmed Norway’s commitment to continuing its support for Nepal’s school education.
She said the Norwegian government is well aware of Nepal’s plans and priorities and is keen to expand cooperation in the education sector.
