KATHMANDU: The District Police Range, Kathmandu, has announced that vehicular exits from the Nagdhunga and Pharping/Dakshinkali checkpoints have been suspended until further notice due to ongoing natural disaster risks.

The decision to seal these major valley exit points was made on Monday following continuous heavy rainfall, which has significantly increased the threat of landslides and falling boulders along the highways.

The closure is a precautionary measure implemented as landslides have already begun triggered by the downpour.

The restriction aims to prevent a repeat of past incidents where vehicles were tragically buried along the highways during peak rainy seasons.
