KATHMANDU: Deepak Raj Joshi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nepal Tourism Board, has been relieved of his position.

He was removed following the issuance of the “Special Provision Ordinance on Removal of Public Office Bearers, 2026,” after the Government of Nepal recommended the decision and President Ramchandra Paudel issued the ordinance.

Joshi is a familiar figure in the tourism sector and had previously served as CEO of the board in an earlier term.

During his first tenure, he was credited with strong performance and later went on to serve as CEO of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI). He was reappointed as CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board in September 2024 for a four-year term.

Known for his expertise in both domestic and international tourism, Joshi has been regarded as an important contributor to tourism promotion and sustainable tourism development in Nepal.
