KATHMANDU: The Constitutional Council has recommended Manoj Kumar Sharma for appointment as Nepal’s next chief justice.

A meeting of the council held on Thursday endorsed Sharma’s name for the post. He is currently fourth in the seniority ranking within the judiciary.

The recommendation now moves forward under the constitutional appointment process for the country’s top judicial position.
