KATHMANDU: Police have arrested 22 people from different parts of Nepal during security checks and anti-drug operations. According to the Central News Desk of Nepal Police, the arrests were made in Dang, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Rautahat, Parsa, Jhapa, Morang, Mahottari, Sunsari, and Bardiya districts.
In Dang, one person was arrested from Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-5. In Kailali, one person each was arrested from Kusumghat in Bhajani Municipality-3, Guruwa Chowk in Janaki Rural Municipality-1, and Trinagar in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-2.
Similarly, in Kanchanpur, one person was arrested from Badaipur in Bhimdutta Municipality-13, while two people were arrested from Ghagaun in Punarbas Municipality-4.
In Rautahat, one person was arrested from Chandrapur Municipality-5. In Parsa, five people were arrested from Birgunj Metropolitan City-16.
In Jhapa, two people were arrested from Bhadrapur Municipality-8, one from Surunga Bazaar in Kankai Municipality-3, and one from Mechidanda in Mechinagar Municipality-6.
Likewise, one person was arrested from Namunatol in Kanepokhari Rural Municipality-6 of Morang, one from Bardibas Municipality-1 in Mahottari, two from Ganeshman Chowk in Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-16 of Sunsari, and one from Bansgadhi Municipality-5 in Bardiya.
Police said investigations into the cases are ongoing.
