KATHMANDU: Opposition lawmakers today demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) after he failed to appear in Parliament during discussions on the government’s policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year.

Opposition MPs described the prime minister’s absence as irresponsible and called for an immediate explanation. The protest disrupted parliamentary proceedings as lawmakers accused the government of avoiding accountability.

During the session, Speaker DP Aryal allowed Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle to present the proposal for discussion on behalf of the prime minister.
