KATHMANDU: The government has formed a committee to study and investigate issues of public concern raised during and after the tenure of former Home Minister Sudhan Gurung.
A Cabinet meeting held on May 12 decided to form the committee under the coordination of former High Court judge Achyut Prasad Bhandari.
The panel also includes Financial Comptroller General Shobha Kanta Poudel and Joint Attorney Achyut Mani Neupane as members.
According to Deepa Dahal, press and research adviser to Prime Minister Balen Shah, the committee has been tasked with conducting a factual study and investigation into the issues publicly raised against Gurung, who is also a member of the House of Representatives.
The committee has been directed to submit its report with recommendations to the government within 15 days.
