KATHMANDU: Education and Sports Minister Sasmit Pokharel has said the government still has much to do for the development of the sports sector and athletes’ welfare.
Speaking at a farewell program for the Nepal women’s national football team ahead of the SAFF Women’s Championship, he praised the team’s recent performances and said they have made the country proud.
He acknowledged the government’s limitations but pledged better use of resources for sports development and athlete career growth.
The minister also expressed confidence in the team, saying he believes they can win the championship and promised to welcome them at the airport if they return as champions.
