KATHMANDU: On the third trading day of the week today (Wednesday), the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has increased by a single digit. Along with NEPSE, the trading amount has also increased.
The NEPSE has increased by 4.99 points on Wednesday. NEPSE, which had decreased by 9.24 points on Tuesday, had increased by 28.85 points on Monday. Compared to the previous trading day, NEPSE, which increased by 0.17 percent today, has stopped at the 2782.10 point mark.
On today’s day, the Sensitive Index also increased by 1.21 points and stopped at the 475.51 point mark. On a percentage basis, this is 0.25 percent higher compared to the previous trading day. Similarly, the float index increased by 0.22 percent and the sensitive float index increased by 0.26 percent.
In the stock market on Wednesday, at least 15,249,712 shares of 354 companies were bought and sold in 60,562 transactions. According to this, a turnover of Rs 6.03 billion took place on Wednesday.
A turnover of Rs 4.854 billion had taken place on Tuesday, while a turnover of Rs 5.986 billion had taken place on Monday.
In the stock market today, the share prices of 151 companies increased. While the share prices of 105 companies went down, the share prices of 14 companies remained stable. Out of the 13 groups traded today (Wednesday) on NEPSE, the indices of nine groups increased. Similarly, the indices of four groups have decreased.
According to this, on Wednesday, the index of the Commercial Bank group increased by 0.27 percent and the Development Bank group by 0.13 percent. The Finance group index went down by 0.38 percent and the Hotels and Tourism group by 0.24 percent.
Similarly, the index of the Hydropower group went up by 0.06 percent, Investment by 0.58 percent, and the Life Insurance group by 0.68 percent. The index of the Manufacturing and Processing group, however, decreased by 0.43 percent.
Likewise, the index of the microfinance group increased by 0.29 percent, mutual funds by 0.39 percent, and the non-life insurance group by 0.54 percent. Similarly, while the index of the Others group went down by 0.30 percent, the sub-index of the Trading group climbed up by 0.73 percent.
On NEPSE on Wednesday as well, investors of Kalinchowk Hydropower Limited earned 14.98 percent. Investors of Kalinchowk had earned 9.23 percent on Tuesday. Similarly, investors of Sanima Debenture lost 6.64 percent in share price.
In terms of trading amount, Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company remained at the forefront today as well. On Wednesday, a turnover of Rs 712.2 million of Ankhu Khola took place. A turnover of Rs 467.2 million of Ankhu Khola had taken place on Tuesday, while a turnover of Rs 602 million had taken place on Monday.
Similarly, in terms of the number of shares traded, Ankhu Khola itself remained ahead today. On Wednesday, at least 1,635,606 shares of it were bought and sold. On Tuesday, some 1,118,022 shares of it were bought and sold, while on Monday, at least 1,451,995 shares of it were bought and sold.
Its final trading price today remained fixed at Rs 439 per share.
