KATHMANDU:  Iran has won the title of the CAVA Women’s Volleyball Championship.

Iran clinched the championship by defeating Kazakhstan 3-1 in the final match held on Friday at the National Sports Council (NSC) covered hall in Tripureshwar.

After winning the first set 25-18, Iran dropped the second set 19-25. However, Iran bounced back to claim the next two sets 25-15 and 25-21 to secure the title.

Earlier on Friday, Nepal was defeated 3-1 by India in the match held for the third position. India won the first and second sets 25-23 and 25-22, respectively. Although Nepal made a comeback to win the third set 25-15, India secured the fourth set 25-22 to finish in third place. With this loss, Nepal was limited to the fourth position.
