KATHMANDU: The National Assembly has passed two key election-related bills during its session on Sunday.
The Upper House passed the House of Representatives Member Election (First Amendment) Bill, 2026, and the Voter Roll (First Amendment) Bill, 2026, by a majority vote.
Both bills were received by the National Assembly alongside a message from the House of Representatives.
Earlier in the meeting, Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Sobita Gautam, tabled separate motions seeking the passage of the bills on behalf of Prime Minister and Home Minister Balendra Shah.
The next meeting of the National Assembly is scheduled to convene on Monday at 1:15 PM.
