KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has called a secretariat meeting to discuss the current political situation, organizational expansion, and internal management issues.

According to the party, the meeting will be conducted virtually on Sunday at 8:00 PM.

Notably, the party’s official agenda remains entirely silent regarding Prime Minister Balen Shah’s controversial statement made earlier today in parliament, where he claimed that border encroachment has occurred from both sides and that Nepal has also encroached upon Indian territory.

Party General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti shared that the meeting will review the current political situation alongside various party activities.

Additionally, the decision-making process will be advanced regarding the nomination of officials to the Discipline Commission, Election Commission, and various other party departments.

The meeting’s agenda also includes matters related to investigative actions.

Furthermore, discussions are prepared to take place concerning the operating procedures for provincial conventions, the sub-committees to be formed under the General Convention Main Organizing Committee, and the general convention election procedures.

Amending the party statute, defining the organizational responsibilities of federal members of parliament, and management issues related to the upcoming general convention are also among the major agendas of the meeting.

Similarly, discussions will be held on necessary amendments to the district convention operating procedures.

The meeting will also deliberate on a proposal to offer representation opportunities in next-level conventions to candidates who secure more than 25% of the votes for official positions during the provincial, district, and municipal level conventions.

The party stated that the secretariat meeting will focus on various policy and procedural matters with the aim of streamlining the organizational structure, convention processes, and internal management.
