KATHMANDU: A man has been arrested in Parsa District on charges of killing his wife.

According to police, 45-year-old Ramnarayan Das Tatma of Birgunj Metropolitan City–10, Bazrang Tole, was arrested for allegedly murdering his 42-year-old wife, Halsiya Kumari Devi.

Police said the incident took place at around 7:15 PM on May 28, when Tatma allegedly attacked his wife with an iron rod, inflicting fatal injuries on her head and body. Authorities stated that the incident occurred following a domestic dispute while the accused was under the influence of alcohol.

After the incident, Tatma fled the scene and was later arrested from Ramgopalpur Municipality–7 in Mahottari District, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Bahadur Basnet, spokesperson for Parsa Police.

Police have taken Tatma into custody and are conducting further investigation under a homicide case.
