KATHMANDU: Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has called a meeting of chief whips from all political parties represented in the House of Representatives (HoR) for 9:30 AM this Monday morning at the Federal Parliament Secretariat in Singha Durbar.

According to Secretariat Spokesperson Ekram Giri, the urgent meeting aims to finalize the parliamentary agenda following the automatic dissolution of the old Business Advisory Committee, a consequence of the newly enacted House of Representatives Rules of Procedure 2026.

The formation of a new advisory committee has been entirely stalled due to ongoing opposition protests. The opposition parties, who have been disrupting house proceedings since the new rules were passed amidst chaos on May 31, are fiercely demanding that Prime Minister Balen apologize and expunge his controversial remarks—alleging that Nepal had also encroached upon Indian territory—from the parliamentary record.

Speaker Aryal’s morning huddle with the chief whips is a critical attempt to break this political deadlock before the regular House of Representatives meeting commences later today at 1:00 PM.
