SYANGJA: One person died when a tipper met with an accident at Pumdi in Chapakot-4, Syangja, this evening.
The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Tilak Pariyar of Malika Rural Municipality-5, Myagdi, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ramesh Datta Awasthi at the District Police Office, Syangja.
Pariyar, who was injured when the tipper crashed at around 6:00 PM, was rushed to the Gahrau Primary Hospital in Waling for treatment, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Another individual, 18-year-old Karan Pariyar from Malika-5, Myagdi, who was also onboard the tipper, sustained injuries. He has suffered minor injuries to his hands and legs and is currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
The tipper was transporting sand for a road construction project from Malyangkot to Ghurlichaur within Chapakot-4. According to Information Officer Awasthi, the tipper (Ga 1 Ka 4446) slipped on a slippery, uphill stretch of the road and plunged about 100 meters down.
The tipper driver fled the scene immediately after the incident, and a search operation is underway. DSP Awasthi stated that the police have initiated an investigation into the accident.
