Pokhara launches ‘Kolkata mission’ to attract Indian tourists

POKHARA: Entrepreneurs from tourist city, Pokhara, have decided to launch a special promotional programme to attract Indian tourists.

The Gandaki chapter of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) is launching a five-day travel to Kolkata city of India in a bid to make tourism publicity of Pokhara to the Indian travellers.

The promotional travel begins from June 11, according to entrepreneurs.

Organizing a press conference here on Wednesday, NATTA Gandaki informed that the promotional visit would also prioritize air connectivity.

General Secretary of the chapter, Chet Bahadur Karki, informed that the team would hold discussion with related individuals and authorities in Kolkata to press for conducting direct air flights from Pokhara International Airport to various cities of India.

A business to business (B2B) session to be held in Kolkata would also screen a documentary on Pokhara and Nepal’s tourism. The journalists, tourism entrepreneurs, travel operators and their associations and social media influencers and celebrities would be reached out during the promotional tour, according to chapter chair Kishor Dahal.

Programme coordinator Sangita Paudel informed that even the agreement on business cooperation would be made with Indian tourism agencies.

The team would have 22 members. They would visit major tourist destinations of Kolkata.
