KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently experiencing unpredictable weather driven by a western trough in the upper atmosphere, combined with local and easterly winds.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, this system has brought widespread cloud cover across Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, while leaving the Sudurpaschim plains mostly clear.

Through the afternoon and into the night, residents in Koshi province, the mountainous terrains, and parts of the Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki plains should expect cloudy skies and moderate to light rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
