KATHMANDU: Currently, Nepal is experiencing the partial influence of a low-pressure trough in the upper atmosphere, along with local winds and easterly winds.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, there is partly cloudy in the mountainous and hilly regions, and in the Terai of Madhesh, Bagamati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, while weather is mainly fair in the remaining Terai plains.
As the Department said, a few places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini province, and one or two places of Karnali province are experiencing moderate rains along with thunder and lightning.
This afternoon, generally cloudy conditions are likely over the Himalayan region of the country, as well as the hilly region of Koshi Province.
Partly cloudy is likely over the remaining hilly regions and the Terai areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim Provinces are expected to remain mainly fair.
Tonight, there will partly cloudy in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagamati, and Gandaki provinces. Similar conditions are expected in mountainous and hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashim provinces. There will be mainly fair in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashim provinces.
Moderate rainfall/ snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning have been forecast at a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi Province. A few places in the Terai of Koshi Province and one or two places in Madhesh Province are likely to experience moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.
