KAVRE: Authorities have intensified flood preparedness efforts in Kavrepalanchok by expanding weather and river monitoring systems across vulnerable areas before the peak monsoon season.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has upgraded existing stations and is installing new flood and weather monitoring equipment along the Sunkoshi and Roshi river corridors. Additional monitoring points and an experimental flood-warning light system have also been introduced to strengthen early warning capabilities.

Officials say the expanded network will help provide faster alerts and reduce the risk of loss from floods and extreme weather events.
